NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF VETERINARY PHARMACEUTICAL WHOLESALERS
The “National Association of Veterinary Pharmaceutical
Wholesalers” (ASCOFARVE) was officially established in
1967; although it has been operating informally since 1953.
This Trade Association, the only one of its kind in Italy in
its specific field, is recognised by the Ministry of Health
and the national and international Veterinary Pharmaceutical
Industrial Associations operating in Italy; its purpose is to
represent and protect the interests of its members as far as
the government authorities and production industries are concerned
in legislative, distributive and commercial matters.
On the interassociation level there is a set of rules the purpose
of which is to maintain mutual respect among the operators in
the sector, with a sound and loyal competition on the market,
hence offering users the best service possible.
At the official meetings, the trade association’s ideas
and initiatives are brought forward by ASCOFARVE, which is present
on a ministerial and industrial level; moreover close contacts
are maintained with all the trade associations involved in veterinary
medicines, such as the Veterinary, Pharmaceutical, Breeding
Associations, etc.
Within the EEC, ASCOFARVE is represented in Brussels, and it
is in contact with similar European associations in the field,
supported by a greater harmonisation on a Community level. It
is associated with the International Federation of Pharmaceutical
Wholesalers - IFPWO.
L’ASCOFARVE is a reference point for all industries, including
foreign industries operating in Italy, in the veterinary pharmaceutical
sector.
Over 100 sales outlets belong to the Association and they are
rationally spread over the most important zoo technical development
areas throughout the country, including the islands.
L’ASCOFARVE, which is part of Confcommercio (Trade Federation),
is run by a Board of Directors consisting of 11 members who
belong to the most significant Italian companies in the sector.
The President is Mr. Luigi VAIRA from Cuneo, and the headquarters
are located in Udine, under the management of Mr. Roberto CIRIANI. |
